Eight Premier League players suspended

Eight Premier League players were suspended by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following the weekend’s matches.

Vitor Viera (Zejtun) was suspended for three matches while Paul Fenech (Balzan), Jefferson de Assis and Nevin Portelli (Gzira), Kevin Tulimieri (Mosta), Ryan Scicluna (Sirens), John Mintoff (Sliema) and Eslit Sala (Valletta) were suspended for one match.

Vieira is ruled out for Zejtun in the next three matches against Balzan, Hamrun and Sliema. Paul Fenech will also miss the clash with Zejtun. Jefferson and Nevin Portelli will skip Gzira’s next match against Santa Lucia, Tulimieri the clash with Floriana, Scicluna the match against Hibernians, Mintoff the game against Lija and Sala the game against Tarxien.

In the Challenge League, Leon Theuma (Qormi) and Gianluca Sultana (Vittoriosa) were suspended for one match. St. George’s official Patrick O’Shea was banned for two matches while Vittoriosa coach Ramon Zammit was handed a one-match ban.

In the National Amateur League, Noel Francis Omondi (Melita) and Ryan Gafa (Luqa) were both suspended for three matches. Julian Abela (Melita) and Mark Spiteri (Rabat) were banned for one match. Luqa coach Edmond Lufi and Melita assistant coach Alessandro Ciantar were banned for two matches.
