Malta FA strategy, government assistance discussed in meeting with Prime Minister

The projects and initiatives being undertaken by the Malta Football Association in sync with its recently-launched Strategy for Maltese Football were discussed during a meeting between Prime Minister Dr Robert Abela and Bjorn Vassallo, the Malta FA President, held on Friday morning at Castille.

While commending the wide-reaching reforms which the Malta FA has started to implement, the Government reaffirmed its position in favour of extensive changes in the sporting sector as well as in governance to strengthen the structures of the Member Clubs and Member Associations.

This fruitful co-operation between the Government and the Malta FA is intended to yield further investment in the sports infrastructure which will be beneficial for the local football community while, at international level, the facilities will be modernised and upgraded so that our country remains competitive in the sports tourism niche.
