Busy weeks for national teams

The senior national team, the Under-21 side, the Under-19 side and the women’s national team will all be in action in the coming weeks as they prepare for their UEFA commitments later this year.

Malta will be playing three friendly matches against Northern Ireland, Kosovo and Kazakhstan as part of a training camp in Austria.

The team led by Devis Mangia leaves Malta on May 27 and will play a friendly match against Northern Ireland in Klagenfurt on May 31, against Kosovo on June 4th, also in Klagenfurt, and against Kazakhstan in Wolfsberg on June 7th.

The Under 21 national team, under the guidance of new coach Gilbert Agius, will also be engaged in a training camp ahead of the UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifiers.

The Under-21 side will be based in Slovenia, with the team facing the Qatar Under 23 Olympic team in a double-header on the 29th and 30th of May, and Bosnia-Herzegovina on June 4th.

For this reason, the Malta senior national team and the Under-21 national team players, together with the technical staff received the COVID-19 vaccine.

Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo and Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Chris Fearne visited the players as they gathered to take the vaccine.

Meanwhile the Under-19 national team will be playing two friendly matches against San Marino while the women’s national team will be playing two friendly matches against Montenegro.
