Hamrun Spartans sign Estonian international defender

Hamrun Spartans signed Estonian international defender Nikita Baranov.

The twenty eight year old started his career with FC Puuma and the moved to Rakvere FC Flora. He then had spells with FC Ararat, FC Warrior Valga and FC Flora Tallinn – with both the first team and the second team. In 2017, he moved to Kristiansund BK in Norway and the following year, moved to Sogndal IL also in Norway. In January 2019, he joined PFC Beroe Stara Zagora in Bulgaria but six months later joined Alashkert in Armenia. Last summer, he moved to Cyprus, joining Karmiotissa Pano Polemidion.

Although Baranov is only the first new player to join the club, the Spartans have so far been busy renewing the contracts of a number of players including goalkeeper Pablo Sanchez, Claude Dielna, Darko Gojkovic, Arthur Oyama, Emerson Marcelina, Predrag Djodjevic, Soufiane Lagzir and Ailton Jorge dos Santos Soares.
