Nominees for MFPA Best XI 2020/21 released

The Malta Football Players Association released the nominees for the MFPA Men’s Best XI ahead of the MFPA Awards 2021.

Players from the Premier league who are members of MFPA will be the ones that vote for these awards.

The nominees are:

  • goalkeepers Manuel Bartolo (Hamrun), Jake Galea (Sliema), Christoffer Mafoumbi (Mosta);
  • left backs Ryan Camenzuli (Floriana), Juan Carlos Corbalan (Hamrun), Gabriel Izquier (Hibs);
  • right backs Cain Attard (Birkirkara), Karl Micallef (Hamrun), Enmy Pena Beltre (Valletta);
  • central defenders Andrei Agius (Hibs), Steve Borg (Gzira), Darko Gojkovic (Hamrun), Enrico Pepe (Birkirkara), Elkin Serrano (Hamrun), Kurt Shaw (Sliema);
  • midfielders Claudio Bonanni (Birkirkara), Gilmar Ribeiro (Sliema/Hibs), Alan da Silva Souza (Santa Lucia), Predrag Djordjevic (Hamrun), Jake Grech (Hibs), Matthew Guillaumier (Hamrun), Bjorn Kristensen (Hibs), Emersonn Marcelina (Hamrun), Nikolai Muscat (Gzira);

Meanwhile with regards to the Challenge League, five awards will be presented, one for every position, as well as an overall best player award from Malta’s second-tier league.
