Hibernians signed thirty-one year old goalkeeper Nicky Vella.

A product of San Gwann, Vella joined Valletta on loan in season 2006/07 and 2007/08, He was transferred to the Citizens in January 2008, spending another three and a half years at the club. In summer 2011, he moved to Tarxien Rainbows and after three years at the club, he returned to Valletta. After four years with the Citizens, he was loaned to Pieta’ Hotspurs in 2018/19 and the following season, he moved to Birkirkara but mid-way through season 2019/20, he was loaned to Mosta. Last summer, Nicky Vella, who is a former member of the national team, joined Marsa.

The Paolites had earlier signed Erjon Beu on loan from Lija Athletic, Brian Thaylor Lubanzadio Aldama and Francis Sarfo Mensah.
