Ta’ Xbiex and Mellieħa booked a place in the FMA Amateur Cup Final after defeating St. George’s and Naxxar Lions respectively in the two semi-finals at the National Sports School Pavillion.  

Mellieħa beat Naxxar Lions 6-2 in an entertaining clash. Ervin Rigo and Joshua Tonna notched a brace while Shataizan Zarb and Gregory Busuttil added more goals for their team. Naxxar reduced the score through Jean Noel Azzopardi and Andrew Scerri.  

Meanwhile Ta’ Xbiex Futsal found St. George’s Futsal a hard nut to crack but still managed to win 7-4. Christian Wismayer notched a hat-trick, Stefi Cale scored twice with Matthew Fenech and Kurt Bartolo also putting their names on the score sheet.  

The FMA Amateur Final will be played this Friday at 20:45 at the National Sports School in Pembroke.
