Luke Gambin agrees Hamrun Spartans deal

Malta international attacking midfielder Luke Gambin will be joining Hamrun Spartans after agreeing a deal with the club.

London-born Gambin, who is now 28 years old, had started his career at AFC Wimbledon and then joined Barnet from where he had spells on loan at Metropolitan Police and Hendon Town. He moved to Luton Town in January 2017, spending season 2018/19 on loan at Crawley Town. In summer 2019, Gambin joined Colchester United but last January moved to Newport County on loan.

Luke Gambin received the first national team call-up in 2016, making his debut in a match against the Czech Republic.

Hamrun Spartans had earlier signed Malta national team goalkeeper Henry Bonello, Estonian international defender Nikita Baranov and Franklin Sasere – the latter on loan.
