Birkirkara women to face Juventus in a friendly match

Birkirkara FC announced that its women’s team will be playing a luxury-friendly match against Juventus FC on Sunday, 25th July during a training camp in Vinovo between the 24th and 27th July.

The Women’s Team will be holding a training camp in Vinovo to prepare in the best way possible for their upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments against Glasgow City FC. Following the outcome of that match, they will play against the winner/loser of the match between BIIK Kazygurt and SK Slovan Bratislava.

The climax of this training camp will be on Sunday when they will take on Italian champions Juventus FC in a friendly match that it will be played at the Juventus Training Centre. Juventus dominated the women’s football scene since the team was founded four years ago, winning four consecutive titles.

Birkirkara won the last four championships and last season, they were lying at the top of the BOV Women’s League table but the title was not awarded.

The Stripes will be once again under the guidance of Melania Bajada who has been confirmed for the fifth consecutive season and has shared her satisfaction with completing the arrangements for this training camp.

“Holding a training camp abroad was something that we were already looking for but unfortunately it wasn’t easy due to the COVID-19 restrictions. However, now that it’s all set, I’m delighted that we can prepare in the best way possible for our UEFA Women’s Champions League commitments.”

“Playing a luxury-friendly match against Juventus FC is something special. Obviously, it’s a very difficult test, but opportunities like these will boost the team and make us strive for more and work harder.”

The Birkirkara Coach, who has led her team to finish in the first place for four consecutive seasons during her time in charge, is looking for her team to grow from these challenges.

“This training camp will be the perfect opportunity to prepare in every way possible for our games. I’m looking that the team is prepared more mentally and feel comfortable on the ball against stronger teams. I truly believe that the more we challenge ourselves, the more that we can improve and continue to achieve together.”

This training camp will continue to highlight the professional manner that the club has undertaken in maintaining the high standards of our women’s team.
