Second half goals hand Birkirkara 3-0 win over Mosta

Birkirkara scored three in the second half as they defeated Mosta 3-0 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

Apart from Ivan Doric and Johnson Nsumoh who had already played in the UEFA Europa Conference League, Mosta had Nigerian duo Luiz Okosi Edhere and substitute Israel Igbineweka making their debut. Birkirkara, on the other hand, had Daniel Fernandes, Diego Venancio and Jeferson Fernandes Macedo making their league debut.

Following a goalless first half, the Stripes took the lead ten minutes in the second half thanks to Jeferson Fernandes Macedo whose long-distance shot beat goalkeeper Christoffer Mafoumbi.

One minute in added time, Birkirkara doubled the score thanks to substitute Leandro Aguirre, served by Roderick Briffa, beating Mafoumbi from close range.

Three minutes later, Birkirkara sealed the issue with the third goal when Diego Venancio exchanged the ball with Paul Mbong before serving Federico Falcone who placed the ball inside the empty net.
