Haruna Garba re-joins Gzira United

Gzira United signed Nigerian forward Haruna Garba on a one-year deal. This will be Garba’s third spell with the Maroons after playing for the club in the latter part of season 2017/18 and during season 2018/19.

Twenty-seven year old Garba played for Kruoja Pakruojis in Lithuania before joining Sliema Wanderers mid-way through season 2014/15 The following season, he moved to Hamrun Spartans. In October 2016, he moved to Dubai CSC and then joined Djurgarden in Sweden. In January 2018, he started his first spell with Gzira. He had a short spell with Al Hilal in Sundan, returning to the Maroons in September 2018. In summer 2019, he moved to Debrecen in Hungary which was followed by spells with Suzhou Dongwu in China and FC Voluntari in Romania.

The Maroons had earlier signed Thiago Espíndola de Paula, Judivan Flor da Silva, Emmanuel Mbong, Clive Gauci, Luke Tabone and Kurt Desira.
