Sliema, Floriana earn a point in a goalless draw

Sliema Wanderers and Floriana shared the spoils in a goalless draw at the National Stadium on Friday.

The Wanderers therefore earned their first point following the defeat to Balzan last week while Floriana collected their second point following the draw with Santa Lucia.

The Greens had goalkeeper Georgi Kitanov making his debut as he replaced Andreas Vella while Aleandro Garzia and Daniel Agius were preferred to Augusto Caseres and Brandon Paiber.

The Wanderers, on the other hand, had John Mintoff and Gui Inters replacing Warsama Hassan and Jake Engerer who were amongst the substitutes.

Floriana held the initiative throughout the ninety minutes, also creating the best chances. Ryan Camenzuli missed a good chance when served by Daniel Agius on the 13th minute and just before half-time, Agius hit high following an assist by Adam Magri Overend.

Early in the second half, Myles Beerman tested Kitanov with a low shot but Floriana threatened once again with an angled shot by Jan Busuttil which just missed the target on the 62nd and a powerful shot by the same player was neutralised by goalkeeper Timothy Aquilina.
