The Malta Under-19 side lose 4-0 to Bulgaria in a friendly match in Pravets on Thursday. This was the first of two friendly matches for Andrea Tedesco’s side ahead of the UEFA Under-19 Championship commitments next month.

The hosts took the lead thanks to Stilian Dobrev on the 17th minute and on the half hour, Nesin Salim doubled the score. Valentin Nikolov increased the lead just past the hour and Mark-Emilio Papazov sealed the issue with another goal two minutes later.

A second match between Bulgaria and Malta will be played on Sunday.
