BOV Challenge League: Fine wins for Zejtun Corinthians, Tarxien Rainbows

The BOV Challenge League 2021/22 kicked-off on Friday with the first two matches at the Centenary Stadium. Two matches which put against each other the teams who were relegated from the Premier League.

In the first match from Group A, Zejtun Corinthians defeated Lija Athletic 3-1.  

David Xuereb put Zejtun ahead on the 33rd and four minutes later, Claudio Henrique da Silva Barbosa doubled the score. Leon Muscat pulled one back just before the end of the first half, Jean Carlos Cloth Goncalves made it 3-1 on the 57th.

In a match from Group B, Tarxien Rainbows defeated Senglea Athletic 6-1.

Darren Falzon put Tarxien ahead after just three minutes, Ricardo Silva Faria doubled the score on the 21st and Matthew Tabone made it 3-0 on the half-hour. Four minutes later, Ricardinho scored another goal to put them four goals ahead. Three minutes, Saturday Nanapere scored a fifth goal for Tarxien and although Larson Mallia pulled one back for Senglea thanks to a penalty on the 82nd, four minutes in added time, Thiago Nonato Peixoto converted a penalty for Tarxien to make it 6-1.
