Birkirkara, Hibernians target third win

Birkirkara and Hibernians will be all out in search of a third win in as many matches as they take on Balzan and Sirens respectively in two of the three BOV Premier League matches in programme on Sunday. Gudja United face neighbours Santa Lucia in the other match.

In the first match at the National Stadium, kick-off at 17:00, Hibs hope to make it three wins in a row after defeating Gzira 3-1 and Gudja 2-1 in their first two matches. Sirens, on the other hand, claimed four points in a narrow win over Gudja and a 1-1 draw with Mosta.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Birkirkara meet neighbours Balzan. The Stripes were one of the teams to impress so far after defeating Mosta 3-0 and Hamrun Spartans 2-1. Balzan, on the other hand, defeated Sliema 1-0 but lost 0-1 to Valletta.

Claudio Bonanni is ruled out for Birkirkara as he serves a one-match ban.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 21:00, Gudja United face Santa Lucia. Santa Lucia earned two points in a 2-2 draw with Floriana and a 1-1 draw with Gzira. On the other hand, Gudja are still chasing their first points after losing 0-1 to Sirens and 1-2 to Hibernians.

Santa Lucia could not count on the suspended Jan Tanti.
