Birkirkara, Floriana share spoils in draw

Birkirkara and Floriana shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw in a balanced encounter at the National Stadium on Sunday.

A draw which leaves the Stripes two points behind Birkirkara as they drop their first points after three wins in their first three outings. For the Greens, on the other hand, this was the third draw in four matches.

Floriana took the lead six minutes from the end of the first half thanks to Kristian Keqi who hit home from close range after a cross by Augusto Caseres was not cleared by the Birkirkara defence.

However one minute in the second half, Birkirkara equalised when off an assist by Jeferson Macedo, Federico Falcone hit the ball home in style past goakeeper Georgi Kitanov.

Seven minutes from time, Leandro Aguirre was unlucky to hit the crossbar for Birkirkara with a first time effort from outside the area.
