Third defeat for Hamrun Spartans

A goal by Milan Djuric on the 29th minute handed Balzan a narrow win over Hamrun Spartans at the National Stadium on Sunday.

Hamrun therefore suffered a third defeat in four matches while Balzan returned to winning ways after back-to-back defeats to Valletta and Birkirkara.

Balzan scored the all-important goal on the 29th minute thanks to a great freekick by Milan Djuric which beat Bonello hitting the two posts before ending at the back of the net.

On the hour, Balzan were awarded a penalty after Milos Zlatkovic was floored by Darko Gojkovic inside the area but from the penalty spot, Bojan Kaljevic hit wide.

Two minutes in added time, Balzan also hit the crossbar through Alex da Paixao Alves.
