Mellieha turned defeat into victory to claim their first three points, Marsaskala and Birzebbuga also registered their first wins while Attard registered their second win on the trot in the BOV National Amateur League on Saturday.
In Group A, at the Luxol Stadium, Attard defeated Dingli Swallows 3-0. Bledi Alla opened the score on the 18th minute, Nigel Spiteri doubled the scoring on the 29th and three minutes later, Alla made it 3-0.
Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Siggiewi 3-0 at the Sirens Stadium. Yessous Camilleri put Birzebbuga ahead on the 38th and five minutes later, he doubled the score. Larken Friggieri sealed the issue with a third goal on the 73rd.
In Group B, Marsaskala beat Zurrieq 3-0 at the Luxol Stadium, courtesy of Nicholas Zammit, Fabrizio Zammit and Adrian Carabott.
On the other hand at the Sirens Stadium, Mellieha came from behind to beat Sta. Venera Lightnings 3-2. Liam Hudson put the Lightnings ahead after just two minutes and Zack Camilleri converted a penalty on the 42nd but just before the end of the first half, Paul Simon Ellul pulled one back for Mellieha. Jonathan Cutajar converted a penalty on the 68th to level matters and four minutes in added time, Wayne Chetcuti notched the winner.
