Floriana test for Hamrun Spartans

Leaders Hibernians hope to extend their perfect record with a win over Santa Lucia, Hamrun Spartans face another difficult test against Floriana while Valletta hope to bounce back in the clash with Gudja United in the three BOV Premier League matches in programme on Saturday.

In the first match at the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 17:00, Gudja United take on Valletta.

After collecting back to back defeats to Sirens and Hibernians, Gudja earned their first points in a draw with Santa Lucia and a 3-2 win over Sliema Wanderers. Valletta, on the other hand, defeated Hamrun Spartans and Balzan in their first two matches but then suffered defeats to Floriana and Gzira United.

Enmy Pena Beltre is ruled out for Valletta as he serves a three-match ban but Rowen Muscat could be back after his return from the UAE.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 19:00, Floriana cross swords with champions Hamrun Spartans.

The Greens are still unbeaten after three draws with Santa Lucia, Sliema Wanderers and Birkirkara and a fine 3-0 win over Valletta. The Spartans, on the other hand, have been a disappointing lot so far, losing to Valletta, Birkirkara and Balzan, earning their only points in a 2-1 win over Mosta.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 21:00, Hibernians host Santa Lucia.

The Paolites claimed maximum points from the first four matches, defeating Gzira, Gudja, Sirens and Mosta. Santa Lucia, on the other hand, earned three points in draws with Floriana, Gzira and Gudja but lost 1-3 to Sirens in their last outing.
