Floriana dropped two important points in their bid to close in on the top two after being held in a 1-1 draw by Mosta at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.
The Greens now lie in third place on 10 points, four points and six points respectively behind Birkirkara and Hibernians who both have a game in hand. Mosta, on the other hand, collect another point in their bid to climb out of the bottom part of the table. They are now third from bottom on six points.
Floriana took the lead on the 21st minute thanks to Andrei-Cosmin Ciolacu whose rising shot beat goalkeeper Marko Jovicic.
After having a shot cleared off the goal line by Ryan Camenzuli early in the second half, seven minutes from time, Mosta notched the equaliser thanks to Rafael Morisco who beat goalkeeper Georgi Kitanov with a powerful shot from inside the area.
