Zurrieq joined Marsaskala on top Group B of the BOV National Amateur League after defeating neighbours Kirkop United 2-1 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Monday. Marsaskala, however, have a game in hand.
Ivan Bojovic put Zurrieq ahead on the 18th minute and Timothy Thomas doubled the score on the half hour. Simone Lo Presti pulled one back seven minutes from time.
In Group A, Ta’ Xbiex and Siggiewi shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at the Centenary Stadium.
A brace by Ryan Muscat on the 5th and 21st gave Siggiewi a two-goal lead but Jurgen Sciriha converted two penalties on the 36th and 83rd to level matters.
