Additional ordinary members of MFA Executive Board approved

The General Assembly of the Malta Football Association which was held on Thursday approved the additional ordinary members of the Executive Board for the period 2021/23.

In fact, following the approval of the new statute of the association in July, the Bureau, the Council and Executive Committee were abolished and replaced by the Executive Board which is made up of 24 members – the President and the three vice-presidents; four members from the Premier League, four from the Challenge League and four from the Amateur League, one representative each from Gozo FA, Youth FA, Malta Football Coaches Association, Malta Football Players Association, women’s football, Futsal and Beach Soccer and two representing recreational football (member associations).

Twelve members had already been approved as members of the Executive Committee and to these, another eight members are added, namely:
Premier League – Dione Borg and Robert Micallef
Challenge League – Godfrey Borg and Claudio Martinelli
Football Coaches – Lawrence Aquilina
Football Players – Carlo Mamo
Women’s Football – Kenneth Costantino
Futsal & Beach Soccer – Mark Borg

The members of the Executive Board for 2021/23 are therefore:
President Bjorn Vassallo
Vice-Presidents Ludovico Micallef, Dr Matthew Paris and Adrian Casha
Premier Division: Jesmond Abela, Dione Borg, Victor Cassar and Robert Micallef
Challenge League: Godfrey Borg, Claudio Martinelli, Joseph Sammut and Stefan Vella
National Amateur League: Robert Camilleri, Patrick Cutajar, Chris Grech and Cory Greenland
Youth FA: Stephanie Rocco
Gozo FA Samuel Azzopardi
Football Coaches – Lawrence Aquilina
Football Players – Carlo Mamo
Women’s Football – Kenneth Costantino
Futsal & Beach Soccer – Mark Borg
Other Member Associations: David Abdilla and Francis Muscat

The members of the Electoral Commission for 2022/23 and the UEFA / Member Clubs Licensing Board for 2022/23 were also approved during the General Assembly.
