Mixed fortunes for Under-17, Under-16 national teams in Slovakia

The Malta National Under 17 and Under 16 football teams travelled to Slovakia for a training camp during which they played friendly matches against the respective teams of FC Dunajska Streda and FC Petrzalka. 

On Saturday, the Malta Under-17 side lost 5-1 to Duanajska Streda with Ivin Farrugia scoring the only goal thanks to a penalty. The clash between the Under-16 teams ended 2-0.

On the other hand, on Monday, the Malta Under-17 side defeated FC Petrzalka 2-0, courtesy of Ensell Attard and Sean Gatt while the Malta Under-16 side registered a 5-1 win with a brace by Jake Azzopardi and goals by Kean Scicluna, Nicholas James Agius and Felippe Bugeja.  

This was the second trip for the Malta Under-17 and Under-16 National Teams in just a few months to challenge the young national team players as part of the long-term development process.
