BOV National Amateur League: Msida, Kalkara share the spoils; Zurrieq held by Qormi

Five matches from the National Amateur League were in programme on Sunday.

In Group A, Birzebbuga St. Peter’s defeated Ta’ Xbiex 3-0 at the Centenary Stadium.

Sunday Uforma Ubuwere put the Saints ahead on the 26th. Yessous Camilleri doubled the score on the 68th and Joshua Farrugia sealed the issue with a third goal thirteen minutes from time.

A goal by Matthew Borg four minutes in added time at the end of the first half handed Dingli Swallows a narrow win over Siggiewi at the Sirens Stadium.

In another match, Msida St. Joseph and Kalkara United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the Luxol Stadium. Jean Claude Cesare converted a penalty on the 39th to put Kalkara ahead but substitute Segun Abdullahi Busari converted another penalty on the 66th to level matters.

Gharghur lead the way with 14 points, followed by Kalkara on 13, Birzebbuga 11, Attard and Msida 7, Xghajra, Dingli and Ta’ Xbiex 5, Siggiewi 4 and Ghaxaq 1. Attard had nine points deducted.

In Group B, a goal by Lazar Doric on the 76th handed Mdina Knights a narrwo win over Kirkop United at the Sirens Stadium.

In another match at the Luxol Stadium, Qormi and Zurrieq shared the spoils in 1-1 draw. Timothy Thomas put Zurrieq ahead on the 19th but Gilmour Sammut equalised on the 74th

Marsaskala lead the way with 15 points, followed by Zurrieq on 13, Zabbar, Mtarfa and Mdina 9, Mellieha 6, Qormi 5, Sta. Venera 3 and Kirkop 1.
