Valletta file protest over ineligibility of Warsama Hassan

Valletta have filed a protest over the result of the BOV Premier League match against Sliema Wanderers over the ineligibility of Warsama Hassan. Sliema had registered their first win as they came from behind to beat Valletta 2-1 at the National Stadium on Saturday.

The Citizens claim that Warsama Hassan was ineligible to play on Saturday as he had travelled to Malta earlier this week from a ‘dark red’ country and should have therefore stayed under quarantine.

Warsama Hassan was included as a substitute on the 90th minute as he replaced Gabriel Aquilina.

The twenty two year old played for Djibouti in a World Cup qualifier against Algeria in Cairo, Egypt on November 12.

  1. Protest bla sens ghaliex jekk ghandu jigi ppenalizzat ghandu jkun mill-Awtoritajiet tas-Sahha u mhux mill-MFA.

Bl-istess argument , il-loghob kollu tal-Premier tal-weekend li ghadda sar xorta ghalkemm suppost ir-referees kienu kwarantina peress li kienu f’kuntatt ma’referee pozittiv bil-Covid-19 fl-istess gimgha li kellhom meeting flimkien !
