Zabbar St. Patrick and Mellieha were the first two teams to reach the semi-finals of the National Amateur Cup after winning the first two quarter-finals at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
They also secure a place in the Preliminary Round of the Izibet FA Trophy. Zabbar will face Mqabba while Mellieha take on Vittoriosa Stars.
In the first quarter-final Zabbar St. Patrick defeated Ta’ Xbiex 3-0 thanks to goals by Kyle Tanti on the 59th, Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza on the 74th and Michael Camilleri on the 87th.
On the other hand, a goal by Fabian Axisa on the 76th minute handed Mellieha a narrow win over Sta. Venera Lightnings.
On Sunday, Kalkara United take on Marsaskala while Zurrieq face Xghajra Tornados. Both matches will be played at the Luxol Stadium.
