Gudja United stun Mosta

Gudja United returned to winning ways as they scored three goals in the first half to beat Mosta 3-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.

A win which puts Thane Micallef’s side on ten points with Mosta as they now share the ninth place. While for Gudja this was the first win after five successive defeats, this was the second consecutive defeat for Mosta.

Gudja took the lead on the 2nd minute when Gabriel Mensah pounced on an erratic backpass by Jake Vassallo and advanced upfield before beating Marko Jovicic with a low shot from outside the area.

On the 34th minute, Tensior Gusman doubled the score, hitting home from close range after Marcelo Dias stole the ball on the right flank and advancing into the area before squaring low for the former Qormi forward.

Five minutes later, Gudja made it 3-0. Marcelo Dias delivered a cross from the right and Gabriel Mensah served Tensior Gusman who slotted past Jovicic from close range.

Six minutes from time, Gudja were reduced to ten men after having Louis Beland-Goyette sent off.
