Matches to be played behind closed doors until January 17

All football matches until January 17 will be played behind closed doors after Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health Dr Chris Fearne announced new measures following the record number of COVID cases registered on Wednesday and Thursday.

Sports activities will continue but for the time being these will be held without spectators. Then as from January 17, sports venues will be open only for those who have a valid vaccination certificate.

Affected by this measure is the BOV Premier League match between Balzan and Sliema Wanderers in programme on December 30 together with match-days 14 and 15; match-days 12 and 13 from the BOV Challenge League, match-days 10 and 11 from the BOV National Amateur League; match-days 9 and 10 from the BOV Women’s League and matches from the Women’s Under-20 and Under-16 leagues.
