Hibernians sign Joseph Zerafa

Hibernians secured the services of thirty-three year old defender Joseph Zerafa from Valletta. Zerafa agreed a thirty-month deal with the Paolites.

Ironically, Zerafa played had already played for the Paola Hibs nursery, spending two years after joining them from Mgarr United, before moving to Birkirkara where he made his Premier League debut in season 2005/06. After winning three championships with the club, he decided to try his luck abroad in summer 2014 and moved to England where he had spells with Coggeshall Town, Grays Athletic and Welling United but moved back to Malta in February 2015, re-joining Birkirkara. In summer 2017, he moved to Valletta where he spent the last four-and-a-half years.
