Floriana beat rivals Valletta to register third win in a row

With a goal in each half, Floriana defeated eternal rivals Valletta 2-0 at the National Stadium to register a third win in a row and strengthen their second place in the BOV Premier League table.

Valletta, on the other hand, suffer their third successive defeat, going four matches without a win. They continue to share fourth place on 20 points with Birkirkara, who however have two games in hand, four points behind Hamrun and six behind the Greens.

Floriana managed to take the lead on 24 minutes when Lucas Campos lost the ball in midfield to Oualid El Hasni who served Jan Busuttil and the latter released Andrei Cosmin Ciolacu who entered the area before slotting the ball past Alessandro Guarnone.

Eighteen minutes in the second half, the Greens doubled the score when Ulises Arias served substitute Daniel Agius on the right and off the latter’s cross, another substitute, Eugeniu Rebenja, headed the ball past the Valletta goalkeeper.
