For the second time in four days, Attard registered a 5-0 win to maintained their unbeaten record and move second in Group A of the BOV National Amateur League as they defeated Ta’ Xbiex 5-0 at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Wednesday.
Lydon Cuschieri put Attard ahead on the 16th minute and five minutes later, Keith Fedele doubled the score. Bledi Alla Keith Fedele put Attard ahead on the 25th and a brace by Nicholas Schembri on the 33rd and 38th handed them a 3-0 lead by half-time. In the second half, goals by Nigel Spiteri on the 52nd and Bledi Alla on the 79th sealed the issue for Attard.
Gharghur lead the way with 21 points, followed by Attard on 19, Kalkara 17, Birzebbuga 16, Xghajra and Msida 12, Dingli 11, Siggiewi 7, Ta’ Xbiex 6 and Ghaxaq 5. Attard had nine points deducted.
