Floriana keep the pressure on Hibernians

Floriana kept the pressure on leaders Hibernians as they scored twice in the final twenty minutes to beat Mosta 2-0 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Saturday.

The Greens, therefore, extend their positive run to eight matches, during which they dropped just two points in draws. Mosta, on the other hand, suffer a first defeat after two back-to-back wins in their last two league outings.

Floriana took the lead on the 69th minute thanks to an own goal by Raul Manuel da Silva Fernandes who headed the ball home following a header by Andrei Ciolacu.

Mosta were reduced to ten men seven minutes later as Geoffrey Acheampong was sent off by referee Slobodan Petrovic.

After hitting the upright through Ciolacu, three minutes in added time, the Greens sealed the issue with a second goal thanks to Kemar Reid who hit home from close range following an assist from the right.
