Siggiewi claimed the three points in a clash from the lower part of the table in Group A of the BOV National Amateur League at the Victor Tedesco Stadium on Friday as they defeated Dingli Swallows 5-4.
Robert Ciantar put Dingli ahead on the 15th minute but Andre Farrugia equalised on the 37th. Five minutes later, Dingli regained the lead through Giuseppe Versace on the 40th. However Jean Leite Lopes restored equilibrium eightminutes in the second half and Ryan Farrugia made it 3-2 for Siggiewi on the hour with Leite Lopes increasing the lead on the 64th. Luke Galea reduced the gap for Dingli on the 71st and Dario Borg levelled matters on the 85th but Jean Leite Lopes scored Siggiewi’s fifth two minutes later.
Attard lead the way with 29 points, followed by Gharghur on 27, Birzebbuga and Kalkara 23, Msida 22, Xghajra 18, Siggiewi 13, Ghaxaq and Dingli 11, Ta’ Xbiex 10. Attard had nine points deducted.
