Attard moved five points clear in Group A of the BOV National Amateur League as they defeated Xghajra Tornados 1-0 at the Sirens Stadium on Saturday.
Nicholas Schembri scored the all-important goal on the 73rd minute.
Attard lead the way with 32 points, followed by Gharghur on 27, Birzebbuga and Kalkara 23, Msida 22, Xghajra 18, Siggiewi 13, Ghaxaq and Dingli 11, Ta’ Xbiex 10. Attard had nine points deducted.
In Group B, Mdina Knights defeated Kirkop United 2-1.
Daniel Saliba put Mdina ahead on the 17th and doubled the score on the 76th with Ayrton Buhagiar scoring a consolation goal seven minutes from time.
Zurrieq lead the way with 32 points, followed by Marsaskala on 26, Mtarfa and Zabbar on 25, Mdina 18, Kirkop 11, Mellieha 10, Qormi 9, Sta. Venera 8.
