Balzan return to winning ways

Balzan returned to winning ways as they defeated Sirens 2-1 at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Sunday.

While these were three precious points for Paul Zammit’s side, Sirens missed a golden opportunity to edge closer to securing a top-six finish.

Balzan took the lead on the 28th minute when Uros Ljubomirac served Aleksa Andrejic on the right and the latter beat goalkeeper Jonathan Debono with a diagonal shot.

Seven minutes later, Balzan doubled the score thanks to Uros Ljubomirac who received an assist by Andrejic from the right, placing the ball at the back of the net.

Five minutes in added time, Sirens pulled one back thanks to a shot from outside the area by Alfred Effiong.
