Futsal: Luxol march on with easy win

Luxol St Andrews continue to dominate in the Enemed Futsal Premier League after a mammoth 14-0 win over Mellieħa with challengers Valletta defeating Ta’ Xbiex 10-2.

The St Andrews side were in dominant mode against Mellieħa and they had Gia Nikvashili in fine form as he netted a poker. Captain Mark Zammit scored a hat-trick with Everton Veve netting a brace. Emil Raducu, Celino Alves, Andy Mangion, Matthew Attard and Melvin Borg were also on the mark for Gabriel Dobre’s boys.

Valletta are still three points behind Luxol after a 10-2 victory over Ta’ Xbiex Futsal. The Citizens had Karl Sciortino and Steven Brayan in inspirational mode when they netted a brace with Jovica Milijic, Andre Ciancio, Michael Borg, Anderson, Emerson and Zvezdan Vukovic also putting their names on the score sheet. Ivan Delgado and Stefi Cale were the goal-scorers for Ta’ Xbiex.

Naxxar Lions maintained their good form of late in the Enemed Challenger League after a dramatic 4-3 win against Żurrieq. The latter had good fighting spirit and managed to give their opponents a tough match but in the end it was Naxxar who got the three points at stake. Clyde Bonavia, Jose Angel Godar Pereira, Sean Parnis and Antoine Barbara were on target for Naxxar while Keith Callus, Boycho Marev and George Douglas Saliba kept Żurrieq in the game.

Siġġiewi obtained their second win on the trot as they defeated St. George’s 6-1. The team led by Paul Bugeja had Ryan Muscat and Kurt Darmanin scoring a brace while Shataizan Zarb and Juan Sebastian Morales also hit the target. Yessous Camilleri scored a consolation goal for St. George’s.

Marsaskala finally broke their duck as they obtained an important 7-1 win over Qormi. The Southseasiders were determined to take something from this match and had Matthias Camilleri and Alessio Restuccia scoring a brace while Joyfred Farrugia, Josef Balzan and Clyde Fenech scoring a goal apiece. Ayrton Duncan pulled one back for Qormi.
