Zejtun Corinthians joined Naxxar Lions in second place in Group A of the BOV Challenge League as they defeated Mqabba 1-0 at the Centenary Stadium on Friday.
Renan Sgaria Farias scored the all-important goal on the 67th.
Pembroke lead the way with 38 points, followed by Naxxar and Zejtun on 34, Marsaxlokk 29, Melita 27, Lija 24, San Gwann 23, Mqabba 17, Rabat and Vittoriosa 13 and St. George’s 4.
In Group B, Swieqi United and Mgarr United shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw.
Jamie Lee Micallef put Mgarr ahead on the 27th but Jamie Scerri equalised seven minutes from time.
Zebbug lead the way with 36 points followed by Pieta’ on 33, Tarxien 31, Marsa 29, Fgura 25, St. Andrews 22, Qrendi and Swieqi 20, Senglea 12, Mgarr 11 and Luqa 10.
