Sirens, Gudja, Mosta and Valletta battle out for remaining spot among top-six

Sirens, Gudja United, Valletta and Mosta will be battling out for the remaining spot among the top six as the final four matches from the first phase of the BOV Premier League 2021/22 will be played on Saturday Saturday.

Floriana, Hibernians, Birkirkara, Gzira United and Hamrun Spartans are sure of playing among the top six while Balzan, Santa Lucia and Sliema Wanderers will be playing among the bottom six.

Gudja United take on Mosta, Valletta face Birkirkara and Sirens meet Gzira United in these decisive clashes.

However, another important clash is scheduled for Saturday as Floriana and Hibernians cross swords in a top-of-the-table clash as the National Stadium, kick-off at 18:00.

The Greens lead the way with 45 points, one ahead of Hibernians. The Paolites led the way for months until a defeat to Birkirkara allowed Floriana to move top. Gudja suffered back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Gzira in their last two outings while Mosta defeated Sliema and Gzira, being held in a draw by Valletta last week.

In the first round, Gudja defeated Mosta 3-0.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium, kick-off at 14:00, Sirens face Gzira United, knowing that only a win would ensure they make it to the top-six.

Sirens have gone four matches without a win, losing to Balzan and Floriana in their last two outings. On the other hand, Gzira returned to winning ways, defeating Gudja 2-1 after sufering back-to-back defeats to Floriana and Mosta.

In the first round, Gzira beat Sirens 3-1.

At the National Stadium, kick-off at 14:00, Valletta take on Birkirkara.

The Citizens need a win, hoping that Sirens lose to Gzira and Gudja fail to beat Mosta. After a disappointing run, Valletta defeated Sliema and earned another point in a draw with Mosta. Birkirkara, on the other hand, lost to Santa Lucia, earning just a point drom a draw with Sliema in their last two matches.
