Quarter-final spots at stake as Izibet FA Trophy Round of 16 takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday

The eight quarter-final spots will be at stake as the eight matches from the Round of 16 of the Izibet FA Trophy will be played on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The remaining teams in the competition are Balzan, Birkirkara, Floriana, Gudja United, Gzira United, Hamrun Spartans, Hibernians, Mosta, Santa Lucia, Sliema Wanderers and Valletta and Challenge League sides Marsaxlokk, St. Andrews, St. George’s, Tarxien Rainbows and Zejtun Corinthians.

At the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 17:00, Floriana take on St. George’s.

The Greens ended their first phase commitments in the BOV Premier League in second place while St. George’s lie at the bottom of the BOV Challenge League Group A.

In the previous rounds, St. George’s defeated Mgarr United and Melita with identical 2-1 scores. Floriana, on the other had, defeated Ghajnsielem 1-0.

At the National Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 17:00, Birkirkara face Mosta.

The Stripes placed third in the BOV Premier League first phase while Mosta finished ninth and therefore will play in the Play-Out Final Round.

Mosta defeated Luqa St. Andrew’s 5-0 and Birkirkara beat Fgura United 4-0 in the Round of 32.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 17:00, Gzira United take on Gudja United.

Both Gzira and Gudja made it to the Top Six after finishing fifth and sixth respectively.

Gudja eliminated Swieqi with a 4-0 win and Gzira registered a similar 4-0 win over Zabbar St. Patrick.

At the Centenary Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 20:30, Tarxien Rainbows meet Valletta.

The Citizens placed eighth in the first phase of the BOV Premier League and will therefore play in the Play-Out Final Round. The Rainbows, on the other hand, are currently fourth in the BOV Challenge League Group B.

Tarxien defeated Senglea Athletic 2-1 after extra-time and Marsa 2-0 while Valletta beat Marsaskala 5-0.

At the National Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 20:30, Balzan take on Hamrun Spartans.

Balzan placed third from bottom in the BOV Premier League first phase and therefore will play in the Play-Out Final Round while Hamrun claimed a Top Six spot, finishing fourth.

In the previous round, Balzan defeated Pieta’ Hotspurs 5-1 and Hamrun Spartans beat Naxxar Lions 1-0.

At the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Tuesday, kick-off at 20:30, Zejtun Corinthians face Hibernians.

The Paolites ended their first phase commitments on top while the Corinthians share second place in the BOV Challenge League Group A.

In the previous round, Hibs beat Nadur Youngsters 2-0 while Zejtun beat Xewkija Tigers 7-1.

At the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off at 17:00, St. Andrews meet Santa Lucia.

Santa Lucia finished their first phase commitments second from bottom and therefore will play in the Play-Out Final Round. St. Andrews, on the other hand, are currently sixth in the BOV Challenge League Group B.

In the previous rounds, St. Andrews beat Zurrieq 3-1 ad Zebbug Rangers 2-0 while Santa Lucia defeated Sirens 4-1.

At the Centenary Stadium on Wednesday, kick-off at 20:30, Sliema Wanderers take on Marsaxlokk.

Finishing at the bottom of the table of the BOV Premier League, Sliema will be playing in the Play-Out Final Round. Marsaxlokk, on the other hand, are currently fourth in the BOV Challenge League Group A.

In the previous round, Sliema beat Vittoriosa Stars 3-0 while Marsaxlokk defeated Pembroke Athleta 1-0.
