Five Premier League players suspended

Five players will be missing the first game from the second phase of the BOV Premier League after being handed a one-match ban.

Jefferson de Assis, Clive Gauci and Zachary Scerri (Gzira), Adrian Borg (Sirens) and Jean Borg (Valletta) were the suspended players. Jefferson, Gauci and Scerri are ruled out for Gzira in their game against Floriana while Adrian Borg and Jean Borg are ruled out of Sirens vs Valletta.

Mosta official Owen Vella was handed a two-match ban.

In the Challenge League, McAllister Clinch (Lija), Iven Zammit (Marsaxlokk), Andrew Messina (Melita), Omar Khatib and Gabriel Nazareno Mannino (Mqabba), Adam Falzon (San Gwann), Kieran Degiorgio (Luqa), Mirco Vella (Swieqi) and Darren Falzon (Tarxien) were all suspended for one match.

Mqabba coach Goran Adamovic was banned for three matches, Edgar Degabriele of St. George’s for one match while San Gwann official Dotine Deguara was suspended for five months.

In the National Amateur League, Kenneth Ekezie (Birzebbuga), Robert Ciantar and Domenico Marsala (Dingli), Jean Scholey (Gharghur), Andrew Xuereb (Ta’ Xbiex), Matthew Borg (Kirkop), Max Borg Bartolo, Daniel Cremona, Justin Zammit (Mtarfa) and Miguel Ciantar (Zabbar) were all handed a one-match ban while Zabbar coach Fausto Craighero was suspended for one match.
