The President of the Appeals Arbitration Division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has denied the request filed by the Football Union of Russia to suspend the decision by the UEFA Executive Committee to suspend all Russian teams and clubs from its competitions until further notice.

The CAS arbitration proceedings continue and since the parties did not agree to an expedited procedure, a hearing has not yet been fixed.

The Malta Under-21 side was due to host the Russian Under-21 national team in a UEFA Under-21 Championship qualifier on Friday March 25 and the women’s national team was due to face Russia in a FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier on Tuesday April 12.
