Busy March window for Maltese match officials

Local match officials received a number of international appointments for this March window.

Recently confirmed FIFA badge Referee Philip Farrugia will be joined by long standing Assistant Referee as part of the FIFA panel Alan Camilleri to officiate at the UEFA Under-19 Championship 2022, Elite round Group 1 mini tournament.

This competition hosted by the Hungarian Football Federation will be contested between Wednesday 23rd March and Tuesday 29th March and joining Hungary as participating teams are Israel, Scotland and Turkey.

The tournament will be played at the ETO Park Stadion in the Hungarian city of Győr.

Furthermore, two more Maltese officials have been entrusted to officiate in the UEFA European U17 Championships 2022, Elite round Group 3 mini tournament, scheduled for the coming days.

FIFA Badge referee Ishmael Barbara joined by Assistant Referee Roberto Vella, both also recently awarded once again with their FIFA Badge, have been assigned to officiate in this tournament hosted by Scotland who will be joined by Czech Republic, Germany and Georgia, to complete the participating teams line-up for this international Youth competition.

Last week, FIFA Futsal Match Official Stephen Vella officiated at the UEFA Futsal Under-19 EURO tournament group 4 qualifying round in Finland.

As host nation, Finland was joined for this international Futsal tournament by Poland, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kazakhstan, which tournament was held at the Delfort Areena in the Finnish city of Janakkala.
