Futsal: Valletta, University of Malta share spoils in electrifying encounter

Valletta and University of Malta shared the spoils in an entertaining 5-5 draw as another match from the Enemed Futsal Premier League was played at the NSS Pavillion.

It was an electrifying encounter with both teams giving their all and the spectators kept on tenterhooks till the end.

Despite the seven-point difference, the Students were on par with the Citizens and they even established a 3-2 advantage before the interval. In the second half, the Lilywhites were a better lot and managed to restore parity although the point gained was not so welcomed as they are now five points away from leaders Luxol.

Valletta had Zvezdan Vukovic and Brayan Stiven scoring a brace while Emerson Felipe netted another one for his team. University of Malta scored their goals through Cleavon Portelli, Steven Camilleri, Guillherme Fonseca, Mohammed Elamari and an awtogowl.

In the Enemed Futsal Challenger League, Żurrieq registered their third win of the season as they won 4-2 against Marsaskala Futsal.

Gabriel Ghigo scored a brace with Boycho Marev and Daniel Abdilla also on the mark. The Southsiders, who are still bottom of the standings, had Ishmael Tabone and Dylan Caruana scoring their consolation goals.
