Kilian Bevis scores twice as Birkirkara defeat Gudja 3-0

Birkirkara returned to winning ways to make sure to retain the third place as they defeated Gudja United 3-0 in a match from the BOV Premier League Top Six final round at the National Stadium on Monday.

The Stripes never looked in danger of dropping any points, scoring twice in the first half, adding another during the second. This win puts them one point ahead of Hamrun and three ahead of Gzira

Birkirkara took the lead on the 18th when Jeferson Macedo sent Kilian Bevis through on the right and the latter entered the area before slotting the ball past goalkeeper Glenn Zammit.

Four minutes later, Leandro Aguirre served Kurt Zammit on the left and off the latter’s assist, Luke Montebello hit home past the Gudja goalkeeper.

Birkirkara scored the third goal on the 61st minute when off a corner by Diego Venancio from the left, there was a short clearance by a defender but Kilian Bevis beat Zammit with a first-time effort with the ball hitting the woodwork before ending at the back of the net.

Oscar Carniello was sent off for Birkirkara after receiving two yellow cards thirteen minutes from time.
