Seven Premier League players suspended

Seven Premier League players were handed a one-match ban by the MFA Disciplinary Commissioner following match day 23 which marked the beginning of the Top Six and Play-Out final rounds of the BOV Premier League.

Oscar Carniello (Birkirkirkara), Predrag Djordjevic and Darko Gojkovic (Hamrun) and Dunstan Vella (Hibs) were banned in the Top Six while Neil Frendo (Balzan), Dexter Xuereb (Santa Lucia) and Mark Scerri (Sliema) were suspended in the Play-Out.

Hamrun could not count on Djordjevic and Gojkovic for the match against Gudja, Dunstan Vella will skip the big match against Floriana while Carniello is ruled out of the match against Gzira. Dexter Xuereb will miss the game against Sirens, Neil Frendo the game against Mosta and Mark Scerri the clash with Valletta.

Meanwhile in the Challenge League, Luca Martinelli (Qrendi) and James Pisani (Senglea) were haned a two-match ban while Kyle Bartolo and Jake Micallef (San Gwann), Godwin Mckay (Marsa), Matthew Attard (Mgarr), Joao Pedro Oliveira Santos (Pieta’) were suspended for one match.

Isaac Chircop (Msida) was suspended for one match following the National Amateur League play-offs.
