Women’s Under-19 national team defeats Azerbaijan

Malta came from behind to beat Azerbaijan 2-1 in another match from League B Group 1 of Round 2 of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship at Inver Park in Larne, Northern Ireland on Saturday.

A win which puts Malta on the four-point mark following the 1-1 draw with hosts Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

Parvin Safaraliyeva put Azerbaijan ahead after just one minute but Kailey Willis equalised on the 62nd and Ileana Farrugia made it 2-1 seven minutes later. 

The women’s Under-19 national team will be in action in the third and final match on Tuesday against the Faroe Islands.
