Mtarfa were promoted to the Challenge League after defeating Gharghur 4-1 in the final of the BOV National Amateur League Promotion Play-Offs at the Centenary Stadium on Saturday.
Nestor Luis Silva Canas put Mtarfa ahead on the 26th minute and the same player doubled the score on the 44th. Gharghur reduced the gap through Nicholas Formosa just before the end of the first half but Alejandro Brincat made it 3-1 on the 73rd with Silva Canas sealing the issue with another goal on the 79th.
Apart from Mtarfa, champions Zurrieq, Group A winners Attard and Group B runners-up Marsaskala were also promoted to the Challenge League.
