Izibet FA Trophy: Floriana defeat Birkirkara to set-up semi-final clash with Hibernians

Floriana will be meeting Hibernians in the semi-finals of the Izibet FA Trophy as they defeated Birkirkara 3-1 in the quarter-finals at the National Stadium on Monday.

The Greens had defeated Ghajnsielem 1-0 in the Round of 32 and St. George’s 2-0 in the Round of 16

Following a goalless first half, Kemar Reid put the Greens ahead on the 53rd minute when he entered the area before beating Fernandes with a diagonal shot.

Birkirkara equalised on the 64th when off a low cross by Aguirre, Yannick Yankam slotted the ball past goalkeeper Kitanov.

Substitute Andrei Ciolacu restored the lead on the 83rd with a low shot from inside the area and two minutes later, Jan Busuttil sealed the issue with another goal, beating the Birkirkara custodian with a shot from outside the area.
