Santa Lucia defeated Gzira United 1-0 after extra-time in the quarter-finals of the Izibet FA Trophy at the Tony Bezzina Stadium on Monday.
For Santa Lucia, who had defeated Sirens 4-1 and St. Andrews 2-1 in the previous two rounds. a clash with Valletta awaits them in the semi-finals.
The score was still 0-0 at the end of the ninety minutes and therefore the match went into extra-time with Lorenzo Yael Soares Fonseca notching the winner thirteen minutes in the first half of extra-time when off an Alan da Silva Souza freekick, the Dutch defender headed home.
