Luxol St. Andrews, Valletta, Ta’ Xbiex and University of Malta confirmed their place in the Enemed Futsal Premier League play-offs to be played in the coming days at the National Sports School Pavillion.
Even the Enemed Challenger League is getting into a decisive phase as eight teams will vye for the final honour. Mellieha SC Futsal and St. George’s FC Futsal became the first semi-finalists for the Enemed Challenger Championship.
The other clubs competing for semi-finalist status are Naxxar FC Futsal, Siggiewi FC Futsal, Zurrieq FC Futsal and Qormi FC Futsal.
Meanwhile in the last round of matches, Luxol saw off Valletta Futsal, defeating them 5-3. The Citizens were always trailing, restoring parity three times. However, the St Andrews outfit took advantage of some defensive frailties to score two quickfire goals and make sure to keep their perfect track.
Melvin Borg scored a brace while Maicon, Dylan Musu and Everton Veve were also on the mark for the champions. Valletta had their Colombian trio Jhonn Anderson, Brayan Silva and Emerson Felipe on target.
Ta’ Xbiex were a few seconds away of clinching the third place of the table but a late University of Malta comeback denied them of this satisfaction.
Ta’ Xbiex had a perfect start with Stefi Cale, Jonathan Caruana and Ivan Vadillo Delgado establishing an initial advantage with the Students answering back through Paul Scerri, and Mohammed Elamari to ensure a 3-3 score line.
In the Enemed Challenger League, St George’s confirmed their good form of late after a 7-2 win over Naxxar Futsal. The Cottonera side produced an excellent performance as their players Faisal Alnakuoo and Liam Caruana scored a brace. Matthew Scicluna, Leon Camilleri and Vuk Rankovic also put their names on the score sheet. Sean Parnis and Jurgen Gauci reduced the score for the Lions.

Meanwhile Mohammed Elamari was chosen as the Enemed Player of the Month award, for the month of March. Elamari, who plays with University of Malta, is undergoing a positive season and was instrumental for his team to clinch a place in the final play-offs.
Thirty-year old Elamari has been playing futsal for nine years and has also donned the shirts of Valletta, Ħamrun Spartans and Msida St Joseph. He won the league and knock-out competition with the Citizens.
Ing. Philip Borg, Chief Operations at Enemed and FMA President Mark Borg presented the award to Muscat, together with vouchers sponsored by Enemed and Tutto Sport.
